Dear ACCED-I Member,

One goal for my term as President of ACCED-I is to help make the Association more nimble and able to serve you, the membership, more efficiently.  In November of last year, the Board and staff met to evaluate the traditional committee structure, and to discuss the possibility of evolving this traditional structure to a more viable and agile alternative.  It was determined that, although much was accomplished with the old structure, the large number of committees was not really necessary, and in some cases, a hindrance to true progress and addressing member needs.  The outcome of this discussion was the creation of six Action Teams (see below), which now replace the previous committee structure.

Certain committees were determined to have been operationalized, meaning their function had been absorbed into the daily operations of the Association. Some committees were consolidated into other Teams with similar functions.  The six Action Teams as detailed below will provide excellent structure for moving the Association forward.

ACCED-I is committed to fostering leadership development.  Applications for Team Leaders will be requested on a yearly basis, commencing in December.  I am pleased to announce the following people have been appointed to lead the Action Teams for the next year:

Nominations & Recognition: Mary Kay Baker (Staff Liaison: Diana Hakenholz, CMP)

CCEP: Margene Weiss, CCEP (Staff Liaison: Diana Hakenholz, CMP)

Leadership Development: Kate Kelly, CCEP (Staff Liaison: Monica Nesbit Schultz)
