Conference and Event Manager (2)
The Department of Conference and Event Services at Princeton University has immediate openings for two Conference and Event Managers.
The Conference and Event
Manager will serve as the initial and on-going contact for internal and external
customers who wish to use campus facilities and services for academic
programming including but not limited to conferences, workshops, symposia and
colloquia. The Conference and Event Manager will respond to client proposals to
determine the scope of each project and the impact on the University community.
The incumbent is required to evaluate each request as to the appropriateness of
the programming in a university setting and the feasibility of successful event
execution. The Conference and Event Manager is charged with the primary
management of 30-50 conferences annually and will be accountable for
facilitating each event with the decorum one would expect of Princeton
University. The Conference and Event Manager will conduct meetings with
customers to determine their program requirements and facilitate meetings with
other University representatives from departments such as Dining Services,
Public Safety, Media Services, OIT, and Building Services to deliver said
requirements. Establish and manage event budgets, site selection, registration
management, contract negotiation and creative event execution. Attend events to
provide management direction prior to, during and after the event is completed
to make certain the client needs are met and University policies are followed.
There are no vacation opportunities during June, July and August. Some evening
and weekends required
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and experience in conference and meeting management is
required, preferably in a university setting. Creative and self motivated with
demonstrated ability to plan, organize and execute projects which require
careful attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills,
effective interpersonal skills, and knowledge of conference and event
management. Outstanding customer service skills are required. A positive
disposition and a responsive attitude are essential.
Education
Bachelor's degree.
