CORPORATE SPOTLIGHT: internalDrive, Inc. (iD Tech Camps)
ACCED-I would like to welcome its newest corporate member internalDrive, Inc. (iD Tech Camps). They are a family-owned and operated organization that offers technology camps to students ages 7-17 at colleges and universities throughout the country. The company was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in Campbell, CA (Silicon Valley).
According to Pete Ingram-Cauchi, president, “We launched internalDrive, Inc (iD Tech Camps) with $900 in 1999. We had 270 kids attend our program the first season. Today, thousands of students attend our program each summer at 50 locations coast to coast. We are the largest tech camp in the country. And, we're having a lot of fun.”
Customers are campers (ages 7-17) and their parents. However, they also consider their conference service liaisons to be customers, along with the camp staff. They are a service-oriented organization and want to treat all parties involved with mutual respect. They average six students per instructor and strive to be the highest quality summer camp in the industry.
iD Tech Camps work with major tech icons like Apple, Canon, HP, Adobe and Microsoft. The camps are well-balanced, according to Ingram-Cauchi, “We want our students to learn new technologies, but also to get outside and play sports and games.”
iD Tech Camps will be celebrating their 10th season in 2008. Ingram-Cauchi added, “We're good people to work with. We usually pester our conference service folks for the bill so we can pay them early!”
