Region 3 Drive-In @ Mount St. Joseph University and University of Cincinnati
“Collaboration and Cooperation: Universities Banding Together”
It is not unusual for colleges and universities in the same city to feel as though they are in constant competition with each other for enrollment dollars, event dollars, and academic/athletic achievement and recognition. We also compete with each other for event revenue. However, it is important for us as Event Managers to know what other solutions exist within our markets when we find it necessary to decline or refuse an event because of scheduling conflicts or venue limitations. This Drive-In event will help you identify new opportunities on your own campuses, as well as finding solutions "in your neighbor's backyard."
Have you ever lost business because your venue was not the right size for the event, or your calendar was booked? What if you could recommend another campus or appropriate locations near you to help that client? If we can keep those revenue dollars within our geographic area, and bring new faces and families to town, we can support our local economies while creating reasons to share information about our campuses. Most importantly, the client will be satisfied and will remember how wonderful and helpful you were! They will think of you when they have another opportunity to come to town. Also, every new event we can bring to our broader geographic area can potentially translate into future enrollment revenue for all of us!
Every college and university has unique venues and capabilities to service a wide variety of events and conferences. There are plenty of revenue opportunities to share.
Let’s band together, learn about each other, and network to find ways to support each other to bring new business to all of our campuses!
