In-person Event Policy
Liability and Hold Harmless Agreement/Waiver
I voluntarily participate in ACCED-I events and activities and understand that personal illness, injury, disability, or death may occur in connection with attendance. I release and hold harmless ACCED-I, its employees, officers, and vendors from claims, damages, or liability resulting from assumed risk of exposure. I understand that failure to comply with ACCED-I regulations may result in loss of participation without refund of registration fees or travel or housing expenses. I acknowledge this freely and knowingly, assume responsibility for my well-being, and am able to participate in ACCED-I events.
Photography Agreement/Waiver
ACCED-I may take photographs at in-person events and use them in educational, news, or promotional materials, including print, electronic media, and the ACCED-I website. By participating, I grant ACCED-I the right to use my name, photograph, and biography for these purposes. All postings become ACCED-I property and may be displayed, distributed, or used by ACCED-I for any purpose.
Code of Conduct
ACCED-I is committed to a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, or other protected characteristics. All attendees, media, speakers, volunteers, venue staff, and exhibitors are expected to support a safe and positive experience.
Code of Ethical Conduct
Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative. Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior or speech. Be mindful of your surroundings and fellow participants, and alert venue security or ACCED-I staff if you notice a dangerous or harassing situation or someone in distress.
Unacceptable Conduct
All participants deserve respectful treatment. Unacceptable conduct includes intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning behavior by any attendee, speaker, partner, exhibitor, or volunteer during the event or related activities. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, national origin, gender identity, or disability; nudity or sexual images in public spaces, including presentation slides; deliberate intimidation, stalking, or unwelcome following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption; unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention. While ACCED-I encourages networking and professional connection, it may remove anyone whose social attention becomes unwelcome, who appears inebriated, or whose conduct interferes with others’ participation or enjoyment. Firearms are not permitted at the event.
Consequences of Unacceptable Conduct
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated by attendees, media, speakers, volunteers, organizers, venue staff, sponsors, exhibitors, or others. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior must comply immediately. ACCED-I may, at its discretion, remove or bar violators from continued attendance or participation in some or all events without refund and may bar them from future events when appropriate.
ACCED-I Annual Conference Cancellation/Refund Policy
ACCED-I accepts checks in U.S. funds and all major credit cards. You are considered registered and responsible for the registration fee once you register and either pay or request to be billed. Cancellation deadlines, refund eligibility, and amount are listed in the event confirmation. Eligible cancellations will be refunded less credit card processing fees or a $10 check fee, plus the event administrative fee. Replacements are welcome. No-shows are responsible for payment in full. No refunds will be made after the deadline stated in the event confirmation; registrations made after that deadline are subject to this policy.
