The Jack Thornton Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual for distinguished service, devotion and dedication to the collegiate conference and events profession and to ACCED-I.

Qualified candidates must demonstrate service to the Association through two (2) or more of the following:

Recognize outstanding achievements across the ACCED-I community. Nominations are due November 30.
Recipients should exemplify:
- Strong leadership, visionary and mentor qualities
- Possess strong professional ethics and principles
- Contribute in positive ways to furthering the goals and objectives of ACCED-I.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Nominees must be current ACCED-I members in good standing
- Nominees must have a minimum of ten (10) years of ACCED-I membership and service
- Current ACCED-I Board members are not eligible for consideration; however, Board members completing their term in March may be nominated
Qualified candidates must demonstrate service to the Association through two (2) or more of the following:
- Service as an ACCED-I officer or Board member at the international level
- Regional leadership and service, including Regional Director roles or regional program coordination
- Service as a committee chair or Action Team leader
- Exceptional volunteer service supporting ACCED-I initiatives at the regional and/or international level
