Assist with Advancement of Standards in Higher Ed
Tuesday, August 22, 2017
Since 1979, the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) has aided in the development of frameworks to guide and assess program and service delivery in higher education. With over 40 sets of standards currently in place, we continue to influence higher education through our mission:
CAS, a consortium of professional associations in higher education, promotes the use of its professional standards for the development, assessment, and improvement of quality student learning, programs, and services.
Our Council consists of 1-2 representatives from our member associations who enact the work of CAS through service on various committees. At this time, we have determined that our volunteer needs extend beyond our Council and we are hopeful to involve more people who value CAS and believe in our mission and our work.
We are hopeful you would sign on to serve as a CAS volunteer! We have openings on various committees, including:
Standards Revisions: work with others to revise or create new standards
Strategic Workgroups: work with others to help with organizational planning and implementing tactics to achieve the goals in our strategic plan.
Resource Development: work with others to create resources to help users successfully apply the CAS Standards.
Short Term Workgroups: work with others to support projects/tasks identified by the Council and to be completed within 3-6 months.
Should you wish to get involved, please fill out the form found here. By filling out the form completely, you will provide us with information we can use to make an appointment that is beneficial for you and for CAS. Please consider what skills you would bring to CAS and what you wish to get out of your volunteer experience prior to completing the form, as that information is solicited.
If you have questions about this opportunity, please contact Dan Bureau, Member at Large for Engagement, at email@example.com or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
