As we start to close the door on another year, it’s a perfect time to look back on what we’ve done and start making plans for a great year ahead.
In the research area, this past year saw the re-release of the Benchmarking/Economic Impact Survey, the continuation of the Salary Survey, the building of the eLibrary, and the development of our archives. On the meetings front, we had a very successful Annual Conference in Orlando (complete with puppies!) and have four well-attended and highly regarded Educational Forums in the books! I’m looking forward to joining everyone in Nashville for our final Educational Forum next week. It’s very heartening to see this new initiative take off and be so well received by our members and I can’t wait to see what this program becomes in the future. Additionally, each region held multiple Drive-Ins and get togethers this year and more are in the planning stages.
Strategically, we are pursuing multiple strategic partnerships with sister organizations, are working to improve the value and member experience through technology and member benefits, are furthering our educational offerings to extend online, and presented new Association bylaws, which the Board of Directors approved in November. In March, they will meet again to revisit and develop a new three-year plan – stay tuned!
Scholarship applications were at an all time high this year and we’ve already had a great response rate to our online leadership election – don’t forget to vote! Additionally, if you haven’t taken the salary survey yet, please consider doing so. Participation means you can request the full results for free and the information is really tailored to those working specifically in our industry. The more participants we have, the more valuable the information. The survey closes in December, so don’t miss your chance to get your data into the mix!
I’m so looking forward to everything we’re planning for the new year – our Annual Conference in Minneapolis, online educational offerings, continued research, surveys, educational forums, and many regional events. It’s been a pleasure to see the involvement of our members growing this year – there are so many ways to participate in ACCED-I, I would encourage everyone to take a look at the opportunities available and find a position that is right for you.
As always, I’m extremely grateful to work with a dedicated and professional staff throughout the year as well as a supportive and strategic Board of Directors, and all our wonderful members. I wish a healthy and safe holiday season for all of you!
With best regards,
