"I wanted to give you an update on what the Act of Caring support has meant to East Side Elders and our clients.
-We have provided groceries to 90 seniors who are struggling to eat well and stay healthy
-Provided grocery gift cards and gas cards to seniors so they may remain mobile and socially connected
-We have paid $500 in deductibles for seniors so they may get to see their physician or pay for medications
-We purchased winter coats and hats for seniors
-Gave goodie bags of soap, shampoo etc to attendees at the Elder Cafe
-Provided 15 free meals to seniors at the Elder Cafe
-Distributed blankets to seniors at two senior centers
When we announced the Act of Caring and the generosity of the attendees, it triggered a flurry of giving from a variety of sources previously unaffiliated with the agency! We will be able to continue to provide assistance to a lot of people!"
