Greetings from Lehigh University and my “little town of Bethlehem”!  I’ve just spent three whirlwind weeks of conferencing in Pittsburgh, returning to campus for a short week, and then three days in Providence, RI working with the Hospitality Committee planning for the ACCED-I 40th Annual Conference.  I am looking forward to the year ahead and seeing what we can all do to grow our Association and continue to provide educational and networking opportunities.

The times I spend with our Association members is a constant reminder of the dedication, commitment, and hard work by so many volunteers – which is what makes this Association great.  I know and understand how hard it is to take time away from work, family, and other commitments – but please know that your time and energy is appreciated and that it does make a difference.

Continue to consider volunteering within our Association in whatever way works best for you – there are so many options – I do hope you will consider taking advantage of one them.   There are opportunities at the regional level, with the Action Teams, as well as presenting at the Educational Forums and the Annual Conference.

The five Educational Forums were announced at this year’s Annual Conference.  You can find this information online here. These forums are another chance to hear more about our profession, educate yourself on relevant topics, and of course network with your colleagues.

During my Tuesday afternoon conference address (click here to read), I spoke passionately about the value of ACCED-I and the importance of getting involved – my hope is that it resonates with many of you and motivates you to get involved.
