I once read somewhere that the season of the year you are born in is the one you feel most connected to. For me, this is absolutely true – I LOVE SPRING! I love the rejuvenation I see happening all around me, I love the new growth and bright colors, I love the longer and warmer days. Spring is a time of year when I start to feel energized and look forward to new projects and plans.
In this season of rejuvenation and change, we have a lot of new benefits and opportunities to share with our members! Thanks to everyone who participated last year in our membership survey, we gathered critical information that helped us develop new offerings that I hope you will take advantage of and will bring even more value to your ACCED-I membership.
At the end of last year, ACCED-I finalized a partnership with the Association of College Unions-International (ACUI) to work with them on their successful peer-review program. Through document analysis and interactions with stakeholders during campus visits, consultant teams provide practical and objective feedback to help institutions identify strategies for overcoming current challenges and prioritizing staff and financial resources. If you are interested in participating as an evaluator or booking an evaluation, please contact me directly.
Our lead referral form is up and running! We have put an RFP form on our website and are promoting this to event planners that may be looking for a campus on which to hold an event. If you are interested in being notified when RFPs are available, click here or go to the website and click on the link on the homepage. We hope that this new benefit will turn out to be a valuable conduit for new business for all of our members.
Finally, we’ve started a new Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. This committee is open to all members to address the need to support underserved and marginalized identities of Association members, provide recommendations and action steps, and operationalize the ACCED-I statement on diversity, equity, and inclusion. As the majority of you are approaching your “crazy busy” time of year, I hope you have the opportunity to take a look at some of these new benefits and opportunities and participate if you are interested. It’s a great time for rejuvenation and change – not just in nature, but also here at ACCED-I!
