President's Message

While I am flattered and excited to be given an opportunity to share some “words of wisdom” as your ACCED-I Board of Directors President, I have a confession to make….this terrifies me.  Who am I to share wisdom at my “relatively” young age?  I gave this some thought and decided that what I can do is provide some encouraging words to get everyone through the next few months – which tend to be a very busy time for many.

May is always a difficult and challenging month – residence halls closing, commencement, start of the summer conference season, summer staff training, supervising said summer staff – the list of things that we have to do in May seems daunting and endless.  I decided what I can share is something that may make you feel good about what we do as conference and event professionals every single day.  Always, always, always remember that what we do is important and is appreciated.  Sometimes it’s the little things we do that can have the biggest impact…..kindness and happiness make a difference!  Choose to smile, to have fun, to help people, to just be happy!  Those thoughts just might get you through the rough days of May, June, July, and August….or any month, for that matter.

Enjoy this video….and remember to make those meaningful connections and pour some happiness into people’s lives!
