Who can believe that it’s already November?  I feel like we were just welcoming our students to campus – and now they are already talking about their finals schedule and when they can go home for winter break!

There is so much happening in ACCED-I right now, I wanted to take a moment to remind you of the opportunities that are available.  This takes me back to my inauguration speech from the Pittsburgh Annual Conference – when I encouraged everyone to GET INVOLVED and find a way to get connected.  Here is just a short list of the opportunities that you can take advantage of:

- Nominate yourself or a colleague for a regional leader or board position - https://www.acced-i.org/page/2019callfornominations

Register for one of the upcoming Educational Forums – there are still two remaining: https://www.acced-i.org/page/Educational_Forums

-Take a moment to learn more about our newest committee  – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion https://www.acced-i.org/page/Diversity_Committee

A few months ago, I started a tradition of sharing some of my favorite videos with you.  This month I am sharing “Lollipop Moments” – a TEDx talk that I think will resonate with everyone  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVCBrkrFrBE

After you watch this, take a moment to think about what you have done to create a “lollipop moment” – and realize how extraordinary and powerful we are.   A simple word, a simple action – those are the moments that can make a difference in someone else’s life.  I challenge you all to find a way to create a lollipop moment today, tomorrow, next week or next month – I think you’ll be glad that you did!

And finally, on a completely different note – and because Halloween just passed – those of you who were in Pittsburgh may recall that I made the briefest mention of my new grandson, Liam Jameson, during my address.  This little guy can make any bad day a whole lot better – so I am sharing Liam, who is now 8 months old, in his Halloween costume – the happiest Viking you’ll ever meet!

Cheers to you all – wishing you a wonderful November!
